The launch of Aramco Malaysia marks the further expansion of Saudi Aramco in Asia, following the path of our other subsidiaries in Japan, Korea, Singapore, China and India.

As the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals company, our office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will enable us to capitalise on the country's established and flourishing energy sector.

Aramco Overseas Malaysia (AOM) Office was officially opened in Feb 2019 and graced by the presence of special dignitaries from the Saudi Aramco family.

Collaboration, innovation and growth

Malaysia has one of the fastest-growing economies in the Asia Pacific region. The country is known for its well-developed energy industry that supports the needs of domestic and regional oil and gas value chain – from exploration and production, to providing end products to consumers and raw materials for other industries.

With Malaysia's extensive network of over 3,500 oil and gas enterprises, we are set to explore new opportunities for collaboration and innovation that ensure the continued integration and growth of our worldwide investments.

Saudi Aramco: Driven by the curiosity to explore

Starting with just a small group of intrepid explorers, Saudi Aramco's history goes back more than 80 years to the sands of the Saudi desert.

We can trace our beginnings to 1933, when a concession agreement was signed between Saudi Arabia and the Standard Oil Company of California (SOCAL).

A subsidiary company, the California Arabian Standard Oil Company (CASOC), was created to manage the agreement.
