Aramco Malaysia recognized by GEC Malaysia for its environmental conservation efforts

Aramco Malaysia received the appreciation by the Global Environment Center (GEC) of Malaysia for its contribution to GEC's award of 'Role Model for Non-Governmental Organizations', given by the Malaysian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, through its “National Program for Planting Mangroves & Other Suitable Species on the Coast”.

Through a multi-stakeholder partnership approach, GEC's collaboration with Aramco started in April 2018 and to date more than 10,000 mangrove saplings have been planted in Tanjung Surat & Belungkor area in Johor, by more than 1,000 participants including Aramco volunteers. The engagement sessions and sustainable livelihood initiatives conducted have also positively impacted the lives of members of the local communities from all walks of life.
