For us, being a good corporate citizen goes beyond providing access to affordable energy and driving economic development. It means mobilizing our capabilities, and allocating resources where they can make a tangible and positive difference to people's lives.
We engage in a range of voluntary sustainability initiatives and programs that support the communities and the environment in which we operate.
Overseen by our Corporate Citizenship Executive Committee, and guided by our corporate citizenship strategy, our voluntary sustainability community commitments focus on supporting the intellectual, creative, and economic development of our local communities in Saudi Arabia and around the world, and preserving the unique environment and diverse habitats of the planet.
Knowledge and culture
We recognize that education underlies economic and societal progress, and our ability to maximize value from the Kingdom's resource base is dependent upon developing the next generation of highly skilled professionals. That's why we focus our outreach education programs on building STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) competency and creativity in the youth of Saudi Arabia, and in communities where we operate internationally.
Our efforts to boost STEM competency in youth spark imaginative and analytical thinking. This ability will enable our youth to help us resolve some of the world's most pressing energy challenges.
Our flagship voluntary sustainability community initiative, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), is positioned to make a tangible, positive impact on the Kingdom's future by inspiring a passion for knowledge, creativity, and cross‐cultural engagement.
