Scam and fraud alert notice

Aramco Overseas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“AOM”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aramco Overseas Company B.V. (“AOC”) and AOC's parent company is Saudi Arabian Oil Company (“Saudi Aramco”), which is the state-owned oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a fully integrated global petroleum and chemicals enterprise.
AOM has been made aware of unauthorized schemes by way of scam mails, notices, emails, faxes being circulated by certain parties:

  • fraudulently representing themselves as Aramco's agent, middleman, third party individuals or companies or firms as representative, or as the joint venture company between PETRONAS and Saudi Aramco (Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PRefChem);
  • conducting unauthorized solicitation of business designed to look real, using company names, logos, trademarks and branding fraudulently and asking for earnest money or funds in order to register your company's interest to participate in Saudi Aramco or PRefChem related projects;
  • falsely using Saudi Aramco's name in an attempt to recruit on behalf of Saudi Aramco, asking you to transfer money for processing visas, work permits, residence cards, immigration costs, or recruiter fees, prior to entering into a contract of employment or receiving a job offer.

Saudi Aramco does not require candidates to submit money to its outside recruiters to pay for travel, immigration, or other fees or expenses. And all advertisements, invitation to participate in business or contracts for PRefChem are and will be carried through the joint venture companies, namely Pengerang Refining Company Sdn Bhd (PRefChem Refining) and Pengerang Petrochemical Company Sdn Bhd (PRefChem Petrochemical).

We advise you not to respond to any unsolicited offers of employment or to engage in unauthorized business relationship and always be vigilant of warning signs of such fraudulent activity.

AOM takes all information regarding suspicious or fraudulent activities very seriously.
